Workouts Designed to Get Results for You

My mission is to challenge your body to reach its full potential. If you are ready to look and feel great, I'll design workouts that push you toward your goal. I'll be your partner and motivate you to give your best effort and get results.

Personal training sessions include a combination of cardiovascular conditioning, weight training, flexibility exercises, nutrition counseling, and monitoring your progress. With these tools, I'll work one-on-one with you to create a program that meets your goals.

Getting fit has many rewards, and can literally transform your life. Exercise, when combined with good nutrition, results in disease prevention, stress reduction, and a healthy lifestyle. Exercise can also provide emotional benefits like a positive body image, improved energy level, self-confidence, and an optimistic outlook.

cardio conditioning

The heart is the most important muscle in your body. We'll work together to increase your cardiovascular health and endurance. Plus, I'll help you train so your heart reaches its optimal rate for burning fat.

A few activities that increase cardiovascular health are walking, running, biking, and swimming. If possible, I like to spend part of a training session outside.

Cardiovascular training should be performed 3 to 5 times per week, lasting 30 to 45 minutes per session. I can help you make this time as fun and enjoyable as possible.

weight training

I'll teach you proper form and the benefits of each weight-training exercise. Plus, I'll challenge you to progressively increase your level of strength and get the maximum benefit from your hard work. Weight training has many rewards.

With hard work, you can:

• Stimulate muscle growth up to your genetic potential
• Strengthen muscles, tendons, and ligaments
• Increase bone mass
• Improve posture
• Increase metabolism (to burn more calories even at rest)
• Improve sports performance
• Decrease risk of injury

Weight training includes working with free weights (barbells and dumbbells), weight machines, cables, tubes, and body-weight resistance.

Flexibility Exercises

Flexibility is an integral part of any fitness plan. That's why I incorporate stretching into every workout. I'll demonstrate safe, effective exercises that increase your flexibility.

Flexibility exercises can:

• Decrease risk of injury
• Increase range of motion in joints
• Improve posture
• Relieve muscle soreness
• Promote mental relaxation and stress relief

Nutrition

Fad diets, crash diets, and gimmicks don't work. Recent studies show Americans spend up to $40 billion a year on fad diets and products, yet we continue to get fatter. Why? Fad diets teach bad eating habits and produce yo-yo weight swings. The result is a loss of lean muscle and detrimental effects on metabolism.

You need a long-term, lifestyle solution to fat loss.

Good nutrition, when combined with exercise, has an important role in getting lean and fit. It's a commitment you make for the rest of your life. A healthy diet gives you more energy for your training sessions, which leads to better results.

I'll ask you to keep a diary of your diet. Then, I'll analyze problem areas and recommend changes you can make immediately to maximize the results of your exercise program.

If you want to lose weight, I'll coach you to cut calories through smart food choices and timing of meals. If you want to gain muscle, I'll advise you on how you can supply your growing muscles with the nutrients they need.

My goal is to help you lose fat, increase your energy, and improve your overall health.

Monitor Progress

Charting your progress is essential to stay focused on your goals. As you see your progress occur, your self-esteem and confidence grows.

I can monitor your progress by:

• Performing initial fitness testing to establish a benchmark and help create an exercise program tailored exclusively for you
• Taking body measurements and fat percentage
• Monitoring your heart rate to target its optimal training zone for burning fat
• Ensuring that difficulty level of exercises increases progressively toward achieving your goal
• Providing constant feedback and coaching during your workouts
